Storm Gain and Voluum

The following document describes how to set up tracking for Storm Gain offers.

Before you Start

In order to make those two platforms work together, you will need:

  • An active Voluum account
  • An active Storm Gain account

Once you have everything prepared, read the following guide.

I. Add Storm Gain as an Affiliate Network in Voluum and get the Postback URL

  1. In Voluum, go to the Affiliate networks tab.

  2. Click the Create button and select the Affiliate network option from the drop-down menu.

  3. Select Storm Gain template and click the Next button.

  4. Copy the postback URL to the clipboard and paste it to any text editing tool.

  5. Click the Save button.

II. (Optional) Set Up Custom Conversions

Storm Gain support two conversion types:

  • First-time deposit
  • Registration

To track them separately, you need to set up custom conversions. If you want to track one conversion type only, you can skip this step.

  1. In Voluum, click the button to go to the Settings page.
  2. Go to Custom conversions tab.
  3. Click the Add button.

  4. Provide custom conversion name and value. Since Storm Gain does not support any event type parameter, you can provide any value you want. You will then have to prepare two versions of the postback URL with both values of the et parameter. This is discussed in step IV.

    In our example, we have added two custom conversions:

    • Custom conversion for 'register' event

      • Custom conversion name: Registration
      • Value of the et parameter: register

    • Custom conversion for 'first time deposit' event

      • Custom conversion name: First time deposit
      • Value of the et parameter: deposit
  5. Click the Save button.

III. Get The Offer URL

  1. In Storm Gain, make sure that you have a commission plan activated, and then go to the Marketing tools tab.
  2. Use filters to narrow down your search

  3. Copy click URL link to the clipboard that is located next to the offer you want to promote.

IV. Create a Postback URLs and send it to FPM

If you didn't set up custom conversions, you can already send the postback URL that you have copied from Voluum in step II to your Storm Gain account manager.

However, if you have set custom conversions, you need to prepare two postback URLs with the correct value of the et parameter that you have set in custom conversions.

In our example, we have two values of the et parameter:

  • register
  • deposit

Your copied postback URL looks something like this:

Now add the et parameter name with both of the values above after the & character. The 'deposit' conversion type also passes payout and transaction ID. You should get two postback URLs:

  • For 'Register' event: http://track.my_custom_domain.com/postback?cid=[afp]&et=register
  • For 'First time deposit' event: http://track.my_custom_domain.com/postback?cid=[afp]&et=deposit&payout=[Transaction_sum]&txid=[DepositId]

Send them both to your account manager. You have contact details displayed inside the platform's dashboard.

V. Add an offer to Voluum

  1. In Voluum, go to Offers.

  2. Click the Create button and select the Offer option from a drop-down menu.

  3. Select the Storm Gain affiliate network that you have added earlier.
  4. Provide a name for the offer in the Offer name text field.
  5. Paste the click URL that you have copied from FPM in the Offer URL text field.
  6. Add the afp={clickid}. Your final link for traffic should look like this: https://go.stormgain.app/visit/?bta=112880&nci=13356&afp={clickid}

  7. Click the Save button.
